New Pipes... Download or what? Need advice.
« on: June 27, 2010, 07:24:17 PM »

Figured I would post this here to get the most results. Anyway getting Vance and Hines big radius pipes on Tuesday for my 07 FXDSE. Dealer says I don't need download unless i change the intake. What exactly is a download anyway? Do I need it or what? What's it's purpose? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Just put the pipes on and drive it. Half the guys on here would have you spend a fortune. I just put V&H big shots on my FXDSE2 and it works great. Never changed a thing.

just adding pipes should be ok, the ecm with the 02 sensors will make changes as needed ,  if you do the intake side you will need a tuner or down load then

I just added a cat-less head pipe and stage 1 A/C and the bike runs great. No re-map.
