I purchased a 2010 CVO Ultra Dark last May, & have had too many problems with it.
The worse problem is the bent crank, which should be replaced some time next week, with only 1800 miles on it.
The bike has been noisy from day one, probably lifter noise.
The bike ran so hot, that the rear cylinder would shut down in 65 degree weather in stop & go driving.
I finally, installed the fullsac X-Pipe with the 2" baffles, Arlen Ness Big Sucka, & TSS Mastertune to alleviate the heat problems.
After I got this work done by an independent shop, the mechanic noticed a noise coming from the primary. He said that it was probably the primary bearing & have the dealer check it.
The dealer checked it out & found out the crank was bent.
Since this is a common problem, the cranks were on back order.
The dealer said that they would have a crank shipped from the production line to speed up the work.
I have dealt with this dealership since 1969, & they were always helpful & honest.
If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have spent over $40K for a top of the line bike that Harley knows they have problems with & still don't address it.
The quality control of Harley sucks.
I think that it's about time that we have another class action suit on this.
Anyway, I still have my 2006 BMW R1200RT which has been problem free.
I guess that if I have ongoing problems with this engine, I will just sell the bike.
This will be the last Harley that I buy.
It's a shame that Harley can't or won't get their act together.
This reminds me of the old AMF days.
