backrest
« on: October 03, 2010, 07:12:49 PM »

My 2010 CVO dark came with a backrest that is useless.  It pushes me way to forward on the bike.  Is there an alternative that clips into the harley backet?  Anyone modify their backrest to move it back or bend it back?

Thanks
Richard

Have you checked to see if the bracket attached to the fender is as far back as it can go? If it is like mine ('04 SEEG) there are several holes that it can attach to and will allow the entire bracket to move forward/backwards.

You can also adjust the tilt of the backrest with the allen screw adjustment that's located in the bottom middle of the back of the back rest.

Not sure what you want to spend, but the adjustable riders backrest that fits the regular Ultra will fit on the CVO
Ultra. Have it on mine

It is worthless for me also.  I'm only 6'2" but I sit too far back to use any backrest.  Just bagged it up and put it away.

There are a couple of links on this site about this. One even shows reversing bracket to move it farther back. On 2010 moving the bracket to different holes doesn't work and like some of the others I just ride without it.
