Possibly be a 3rd year model??
« on: September 08, 2010, 09:05:23 AM »

With all the changes from the 2010 to the 2011 model, i.e. addition of cruise control, ABS brakes, throttle by wire, ipod/speaker system, alligator vs. buffalo trim, mini-ape handlebars, horn button toggling thru speedometer system vs. button on side of console, does anybody think this softail convertible has more than a snowball's chance of reappearing for a 3rd year in a row in 2012?  If memory serves me right, the normal past performance rate has been set at 2 years of a model before moving on to another model that hasn't been done in CVO yet.  Other than, of course, the Ultra Classic because it is the flagship of CVO.  Or do you think the convertible will have served its purpose to herald in new technology for the softail models in general?  comments??

I doubt it will be back for yr. 3 simple because I have seen dealers discounting the 2010's to move them, and with the price increase for 2011 I suspect that will be the case again. 2500 made and still not hard to find at msrp or less? Says alot. I'd also like to thank the MOCO for adding to the depreciation of the 10's by bringing so many changes for the 11's, like it wasn't bad enough already. Don't get me wrong, I like my scoot the way it is, especially with the mods, but I kind of feel like a test dummy for MOCO and I do resent it.

I doubt they will have a third year. I spent last weekend going from one HD dealer to the next. None had a 2011. I had a few of the sales rep check and they only could locate the red 2011 across all the us. One dealer stated the other two colors may not even be in production. He said HD will make those two based on down payment order.

I got my Convert for $24,559.  My friend liked it so much he went out and got one last week for $24,000.  The 2010 kicks butt on the 2011 IMO.  Those mini ape hangers are straight outta the circus.  Harley's throttle by wire sucks (hated my 2009 Ultra), ABS is for soccer Moms, and the only music I wanna hear is that coming out the pipes.  You have the better bike.  $29,500 for the 2011!!!!  They will be $24,000 or less by next September.

I was just gonna write the comment above, but I agree with the previous posts it is not difficult to find convertibles in most showrooms, also seems to be quite a few fat bobs around too!
