    • CVO1: 2010 FLHXSE Spiced Rum, Fullsac Stage 1, Klock Werks Windshield, Motorcycle Armor

I installed a Stage I package from Fullsac.  The sound and performance are awesome.  And Steve was very patient with all of my questions, including walking me through the map upload.

But when I was re-installing the shields, the one over the area of the where the cat used to be (now the x-pipe) had two dimples in the chrome.

I took the shield back off and could see the guide welded on the back for the worm drive strap caused the two dimples.

Steve told me that either I cranked down on the strap or it wasn't positioned correctly.  I didn't crank it down.

I've got a replacement shield now.  But I need to know the proper positioning for the strap so this does not happen again.

Did anyone take pictures to demonstrate?  If not, can you explain exactly how you position the strap to keep this from happening again?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Same with my SEUC5 but I noticed the two dimples when the bike was new. Dealer replaced the heat shield.

I had the same dimples on my heat shield the day I picked the bike up. The dealer says he will replace. Must be a defect in the welding process.

Mine has the same dimples, but afraid I cannot blame Mother Harley for this one - was definitely me apply a bit too much 'rattle prevention' during the re-installation process...

Mine have the dimples too, noticed it the very first day i picked up bike. Had Dealer install the fullsac headpipe and baffles today along with the TTS tuner and what a difference it has made to the sound and performance.  Awesome product.  When I got the bike back I noticed that the siren is now chirping when you turn the ignition on and then and few seconds after it is turned off.  Never did this before I brought it to the dealer.  Any suggestions on how to turn this off?

Mine did not have any when I picked it up but after I rode it home-,There they were. Asked my dealer they told me when the pipe heats up it expands and stretches the band clamp tight and then they appear. This is NORMAL did not offer anything. Is this really something the MOCO planned on having on all of the CVO'S ????

Geez.. now I have to check my heat shields for dimples.

Any of you guys have heavy backfiring after your X-Pipe replacement and tune?
Or did my dealer do a poor tune?

The heat shield over the cat has a void under it and the thickness of the shield is very thin in the weldment areas.  It doesn't take much to cause the welded bracket under the shield to pull the shield inwards and make dimples. You can see it happening if you tighten the clamp slowly.

To me, HD should have three weldment channels on this area of the shield instead of two or make the shield of thicker material. Just be careful when tightening this clamp and you'll be OK. Happened to me twice until I learned to just snug it and leave it alone.

Someone set your alarm to audible warnings.  Check your owners manual for instructions on how to shut it off.

Well I'm in the dimple club. I did mine last Sunday. And after looking at it yesterday, sure enough there they are.

Yep... add me to the list. I didn't have them when I installed the shields Friday but after 100 mile run yesterday they are there...
