Here's John.  A real hero.

What an honor to meet such a heroic person.

Yeah - few weeks ago I had to keep being interrupted by a B-17 and B-24 flying over my house all day and occasionally the P-51.

The foundation was at our local airport and my house is right under an approach. I saw the B-24 fly over so low a few times I swear I could see the rivets - and what a sound!

That is also how I came to find out about the event.  I was outside and heard that magnificent sound of the B-17 engines.  They do the rides on the B-17 and B-24 before 9AM and after 5PM because they are on display during the day.  THe Stearman, Texan, and Mustang will go up anytime someone has the $350. $350., or $2200 /half hour.
While I was there someone whose brother flew a Mustang took one up.  It's a rare TP-51, which was built as a two seater.  You should see that plane buzz the airfield.
I recorded some video.

If you have a beer gut, you may not be able to walk through the bomb bay, it's really tight.  You'll also wack your head on the upper ball turret too.

Here is one of the many shots I got when I was quick enough to grab the camera. They were low enough over my house that by the time I heard it the plane was just about overhead.
