I have narrowed my problem down to the iPod module.  The left speaker has mainly music, and very little voice coming out of it.  It is not the speaker, everything else checks out good.

One of your connections on the 35 pin plug isn't right.  Open the fairing and use a pick of some kind to press on them to find which one it is.

The ipod left channel is pin-out 8.  Odd that you have music from the left speaker but not voice.

Hope you get the issue solved.

Same problem I had got it figured out though works great now. reverse 19 to 31 and 31 to 19 works like it should. Tried 3 modules 5 ipods and 2 different bikes and 2 different wire harness before I found it out.

Here are the corrected and revised installation instructions referenced by Krazze:

Wonder why it is that mine is working perfectly with the original installation instructions.

Edit:  Upon further investigation, it wasn't working properly.  See my next post.

Well, after noting this thread I checked mine out again.  Sure enough, very little vocals out of the left channel.....I think the left channel had both highs and lows, but no mids as some voices did come through, but not all.  I swapped the 2 leads this morning and it made a drastic improvement in the sound.

Thanks for the update.  I was scratching my head about your earlier reply; perhaps you can edit your earlier reply to note that it wasn't "working perfectly" and refer to your subsequent post with the fix.

Glad you have the fix.

I have the same problem with very little if any voice out of the left speaker.  My kit was one of the first ones so I'm sure my wiring is screwed up like listed above in the threads.  I'm printing out the new revise instructions and I'll compare them with my original instructions.

But something that was not mentioned in the above thread was that I have a bit of an echo sound, not as crisp as when paying the same songs through the AUX plug on the front of the HK.

Does anyone else notice a echo or muffled sound like this?

Maybe the wiring change will make this better as well.

I'm just getting way tired of taking my front fairing off.  I'm afraid that some of the screw holes will get stripped out.

Thanks.
