Electrical/Charging
« on: September 13, 2011, 08:10:41 AM »

This morning the engine battery light came on and I noticed a drop in charging volts then it went back to normal. It did one more time then recovered. Since then now issue. Should I assume that the volt reg may be on the way out or a possible loose connection. If it is the Volt reg, how much of an issue is it switch out. Just at a glance it looks as if the oil cooler is in the way of making this an easy replacement.

Very easy, shouldn't take any longer than an hour. The two electrical connectors are a little tricky. Each connector has a locking tab that you have to swing open to pull connectors off.. Good idea to check out you manual before you start.

The same thing happened on my old 07. It was the voltage regulator

Could it be the battery?

It could be loose battery cables.
