Navigation and Radar on a 2011 SESG
« on: November 11, 2010, 11:22:26 PM »

I Mounted a Nuvi 660 and an Escort 9500IX on my 2011 SESG tonight. I custom made both mounts. On the Nuvi I used a Mountguys holder attached to an aluminum extrusion. The Escort mount is made out of Carbonfiber plate. Both are attached to the inner fairing with 3M tape. I had a similar setup on my 2009 SG. I was really torn on wether to put them on but I really missed my nav and the radar detector is mandatory around here, lots of police with radar guns a blazin. They are also hardwired into the harness and come on with the ignition.

I mounted a remote switch to silence it on the right switch housing. The radar detector has saved me plenty of times

Nice job!  But you know Harleys are just for cruising  :) never saw a radar detector on one. It's unique!

Is that A long rider windshield?

My buddies all give me crap for all the electronics but I always end up being road captain and leading because I don't make wrong turns and I always seem to slow down at the right times  :)

The windshield is a 6.5 inch Klockworks. It was also brought over from my old bike. It not only looks great but works better than the stocker.
