Installing CB on FLHXSE II
« on: November 22, 2010, 04:13:55 PM »

I just thought I would put a thread on here that I finally have my CB working.  It is the factory non-ultra harness but it does have to be re-pinned.  You also need the Navigation interface module.  On one of my prior posts, with much thanks to Harleypingman, we have a list of all the require parts.  I have the Harley iBoom kit so there is no need to change out the cover on the tank.  I will take some pictures if anyone wants to see them.  I also have the fairing mounted J&M antenna which seems to be working very well.
The bottom line is this will work on the 2011 Street glide but you must have them either talk to the right person at the factory or have some newer instructions to make this work correctly.

FYI I did the same install but set it up like the Ultra and put the hidden antenna under the fairing. After a couple of rides with other Ultras, they said it was very hard to hear me even just 100 ft. away. I installed an 3-in-one antenna that replaced the stock one. It also has a splitter under the fairing. Now my range is about a 1/2 mile.  :)

NativTexan, glad to hear you have a functioning CB after spending (approx.) $400 for the CB module; $380 for the Boom kit; $120 for the non-Ultra overlay harness; headset/mic; antenna; etc.; i.e. $1000 or so for an accessory that required the MOCO to invent a solution and took months to accomplish. :o

The primary electrical problem with adding CB, NIM, and XM to the SESG2 seems to be the absence of the 6A connector on the interconnect harness to supply power and ground to the modules, although the power and ground can be found elsewhere; the modules just aren't the plug and play installation that has been the case on other fairing model bikes that require use of the non-Ultra overlay harness.
