Seat to fender relationship??
« on: March 27, 2006, 02:55:16 PM »

This weekend, while putting on the various electrical adapters, I found the seat screw was cross threaded.

Well I can only think of 2 things.1. its possible the tongue on the front of the seat isn't fully engaging under the bracket causing the seat not to slide forward enough or 2 they put on the wrong seat(never know stranger things have happened).Hope this helps a bit.

I've had my CUSE seat off a few times and have found that I have to wrestle with it a bit to get the bracket to align with the bolt hole. I found it helps to get the front tongue piece in first and use my fist to smack the nose forward all the while pushing from the rear bracket area. Once it's all secured I need a  [smiley=drink.gif] to cool me down from all the exertion.
Be sure to check & make sure there are no obstructions that may interfere with the install (wire bundles, battery cables, etc.).  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I agree.  You have to work some but it should align with a little effort and a few "choice" words. [smiley=banana.gif]

The guys are correct it is a pain in the backside to get the seat back on. Had the same problem with my 99 Ultra.  [smiley=banana.gif]

That's the way my 01 sort of was, you had to push some on the seat to get things to line up, but they would.  This one (CUSE), I can't get it to even get fully past the fender screw hole when sitting on the tank and both hands are yanking on the rear of the seat!  I wasn't sure if you could get enough play in the fender mounts to even allow this to happen.  The front is fully engaged, as I can pull up on th eseat and see it.  Thanks for everybody's input.

If you just wiggle it back and forth while pushing down and forward on the tongue it should line up OK.

Make sure the plugs for the heated seat are tucked down by the chassy ground(hole in front of battery).
