which speakers JM,Hogtunes,biketronics,Hawg Wired
« on: June 26, 2011, 08:27:28 PM »

I just bought a 2011.5 CUSE. I had it out today and I am unimpressed with the sound from the stock speakers. I do not want to mess with the amp but would like to upgrade the speakers. What would you suggest?

Had Hog tunes on my 08, ( boom wasn't offered on 08's) and thought they were great; however, saw J&M demo at Americade and (pardon the pun)' was blown away by their Rokker speakers. I plan on installing Rokkers on my Road Glide.

You might give Jim Hddude a call he demonstrated a new Hawg Wired set up in Tahoe for us. Pretty impressive.

trahog ,,,,,

the J&M 7.25" ROKKER series LOWER fairing speaker kit complete will fit the late model stock Harley Lowers ,,,, see: http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=HLRK-7252GTM-T&PF=45 ,,,,,

the J&M lower shells can also be painted to match the front portions of your lower fairings ,,,, best looking lower fairing speaker kit I have seen installed anywhere ,,,

put our 500w 4-channel amp in your fairing ((see: http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=JAMP-500HC06-SG&PF=45 )) and hook it up to the J&M 7.25" ROKKER UPPER fairing speakers, & the J&M LOWER fairing speakers, and you WILL be impressed ,,,,

Can the Rokker Speakers be driven by an Hawg Wired AMP which are 4OHM. Will there be any issues?

I put the J&M 7.25" ROKKER with the cross over http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=HCRK-7252GTM-T&PF=45

Then did the http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=HURK-5252GTM-T&PF=45 in the rear.

I did not replace the stock amp under the tour pack but the sound is good. You can hear the music at 80 but not at 90mph very well. At 70 it sound great.

And all this for under $500 and eventually you are going to get a full face helmet with speakers and mic and the whole external sound system will be a mute point.

yes ,,,, we have installed our 7.25" 2-ohm ROKKER series speakers into quite a few Harley Baggers with the Hawg-wired amplifiers, and they sounded great ,,,,,

Someone drew me a nice picture of 4 ohms/2ohms in a previous post and I didn't think you could hook a 2 ohm speaker up to a 4 ohm amp like Hawg Wired. Was the picture wrong?

That's what I thought I'm tired of the Heavy Hawg Wired speakers tugging on the inner fairing.

I wondered the same thing when I started reading about speaker options. A heavier magnet is cool in many applications but I'd be too concerned with busting up the inner fairing. When I read about the J&M speakers then those seem to be a better option. JMHO.
