The only two things that come to mind are:

1. The siren is actually not as loud (not sure if it is the same part #) or is mounted in an area that muffles the sound a bit more.

2. The option I'd be more inclined to go with (easier to fix too), is your siren's battery is dead or about to die.  I noticed on my 2009 Springer that the siren seemed appreciatively more pronounced when I had the battery replaced.  When you arm, does it chirp 3 times instead of two?  Not sure if this even matters, as I don't know if the siren pulls power from the primary battery only to rechard its own and uses its own battery to sound off, or if the siren battery is only backup for if someone pulls the primary battery.

Just thoughts and hopefully one leads to the answer, since I really have no idea otherwise.

Edit: Forgot that there could be one more reason, your siren itself is going bad.  Try setting the alarm off vs just the arm/disarm blurps and see if it achieves decent volume.

That bike came from the factory with a stock security system, but it DID NOT come with the siren. The siren had to be installed as an aftermarket. If you did not buy the bike new, it was probably never installed, so you need to install the optional H.D. siren.

I believe the OP is talking about the "chirp" sound that is made when you activate/deactivate the alarm. :nixweiss:

Firedood , you are correct. It has been to many years, and my mind went blank. My wifes fatboy DID come with the siren. We did have to upgrade the siren to the "smart" siren to be able to use the optional H D pager. Pager will not work without the upgrade. Good investigative work

My 2005 SE Fat Boy came from the factory with the siren. It seems to chirp fairly loud, but I never have compared it to another model.
A bit off topic, but I found out that if I accidentally leave the ignition on, after using the kill switch, the siren will not chirp when you set the alarm.
Since I always set the alarm, this is a handy reminder if I forget to turn off the ignition.
