Took me about 1/2 hour to do mine (with an assistant holding the lid)... should have been a factory install on a CVO for sure. MUCH nicer!
I was able to install my hinges by my self. The trick i learned, the hard way, was not to drill the old rivets out. just CARFULLY grind off the rivet heads from the outside of tourpak with lid closed. Do not even attempting to save old cheap hinges. (could not hurt to use some heavy tape on painted surface around hinge just in case)
I did one side at a time so the lid was always supported. I had to drill out the existing holes a tad to accomidate the alignment pins and screws on new hinge.
Time spent: ~1.5 hours
30 minutes trying to drill out old rivets. they spin
5 minutes setting up and grinding off heads of old rivets
5 minutes setting up and drilling out holes to correct size
15 minutes mounting the new hinges and hardware
10 minutes puting all liner and strap back together
30 minnutes to admire work and drink a beer
