Need Head Pipe 2009 SERG
« on: January 09, 2011, 09:04:47 PM »

I looking for some guidance on replacing my head pipe with a non-cat HD pipe.  I have been told that certain stock pipes will fit my 09 SERG and will sucessfully eliminate my Cat-Converter.  If you have a head pipe that will work on my CVO please let me know including cost.  Thanks!

Youre looking for a non-cat Headpipe for a 2009 FLT (Bagger) OR, if you have access to a competent weldor you can cut the pipe open and reremove the media and re-weld the pipe.

You should look into running an aftermarket head pipe such as Fuel moto,Fullsac ,V&H, there are many on the market and these forums will help you to make a decision.Just type in heapipe into search and see how many threads there are on this subject.I bought a V&H power duals system and gained power and heat loss, very satisfied with looks and performance.

If you go from a Stock CVO headpipe for the 09 SERG to a non-cat version, there is already a significant power gain and heat loss.

the OP should do a search, I saw someone post one yesterday or the day before.

Everyone, thanks for taking the time to share your experiences and suggestions.  Those of you who switched out to the HD non-cat head pipe, did you have to remap or install a tuner?  I've been down the road of adding performance parts at the expense of ~$4,500.00, this upgrade is not about building the most HP.  I want to relieve the heat and get a few more drivable HP and improve the sound even more (I've already added the 2" Fullsac baffles).  Thanks again.

if you dont change the air filter "supposedly" you wont get so far out of tune that it can not correct itself.

I went with TTS mastertune from Fullsac performance as he will also provide you with a tuned map that will relieve most of your woes.

I have a jethot coated noncat headpipe in the garage that was only used about 250 miles. It's in good shape. I also have a Fullsac xpipe (B model) used only about 400 miles, also in good shape. If interested, send me an email. Both worked very well.
