Just returned from a trip to Beijing, and what do Harley riders do when ever traveling...find the nearest dealer and get T-shirts. This trip was no different. China's first and only HD Dealership opened in Beijing just this past week, 8 April. It's a beautiful showroom (couple of pictures to follow). The Dealership GM was there, Hollis Zhao, along with a very friendly and happy staff. Hollis is a true die-hard biker and extremely excited about having the dealership. He said he's been overwhelmed from the worldwide support and the fact that travelers from every corner have just "stopped in" like the shop was a family home. He had several bikes on the showroom, a couple of V-Rods, a 1200 Sporty, Softail Std, Road King, Fat Boy, White Police Special Electra, Ultra Classic, and his center piece, a CVO SE Fat Boy...which I believe was being purchased while I was there.
Hollis has a great selection of accessories and clothing also. Prices are higher than the states, lots of taxes, duties, and fees that he has to pass along. I personally didn't mind throwing a couple extra bucks in, this logo has stood for feedom, independance and power the world over; I hope Hollis is able to make a good go at it and I'd love a chance to ride with him someday. Great Wall Poker run anyone? So if you're ever in Beijing, go by the shop just to say hi or pickup up a few shirts...
