Hey Guys,

I am pretty new to this forum. I recently purchased a 2011 CVO Softail Convertible. I'm enjoying the time here, everyone is very friendly and I am getting a lot of great information from all of you CVO experts.

The stock pipes are a bit too quiet for me. I have read others threads on this topic.

I am strongly considering the V&H Twin Slash slip-ons. These would be connected to the SE pipes currently on the bike. The HD SE chrome is very, very nice. The quality is very good.

Question: Does anyone know how the V&H chrome quality compares to the Harley chrome? I do not want to see a noticeable difference if I make this move. I am looking for comparable quality.

Thanks in advance for any insight that you can offer on this.

I've had Vance and Hines pipes and mufflers on all my bikes, except for the RUSE I have Klock Werks mufflers on it, and the chrome quality on the mufflers and heat shields has always been first rate.  Never had any problems with their chrome.

PierceEye,

The bike looks great. How do you like the V&H 2 into 2 full pipes?

No problems with V&H chrome quality that I have seen.  I've run V&H straght shots on my Sporty for 9 yrs and then ran V&H basic slip ons on my RG for 2 yrs, no issues.  Just switched over to the new 4" Blackout Runds, so hoping their black coating is as high quality as their chrome.

i have the vh pro pipe on my convertible and i gotta  say the chrome is top shelf  stuff.  it seems to me the coating  is thicker , i sometimes think the chrome is better than the stock chrome on bike   my old bike was  a 91 fxr with a thunderheader comparing the chrome  ....hands down   vh  wins
