Front and Rear bumpers for the FLHTCUSE*
« on: January 09, 2011, 01:07:13 PM »

Has anyone considered putting these parts on their SE?  I traded in a 2010 FLHTK for the 2011 CUSE6 and quickly noticed the absence of these parts.  The absence of this bumber and chrome support on the front fender almost makes it appear stubby or shorter in length.., so I'm looking at adding these parts.  I know I'll have to wire-up the front for the light (unless I choose a diffent piece), and raise the CVO badge tha's on the rear fender.  Would like to know other's experience.  thanks.   ;)

No experience adding them to a SE...but, I might be going with different ones on my Ultra Classic and would let the originals go. I, too, need to do some more research as to whether the chrome ones cover all the original's holes, etc.

Well for me I like the clean, different look without the big gaudy tips, especially on the front.

I had a 07 Ultra and the 2nd thing I did (1st was pipes) was lose the bumpers. When I got the SECU was glad they weren't there, but thats what make the world go round!

That's what I like(d) about the SE Eelectraglides and SE Ultras.   Don't like that Cadillac look.

We went to the expense of buying Street Glide Fenders to completely remove them from Trudys Ultra.  The clean looks is the best for me.

However I could sell you a complete 09 Ultra front fender with all the lights, chrome rails & bumpers probably cheaper that you can buy the parts.  Just like new.  Then you could resell the bare fender & get money back, heck, maybe you could even make money & get what you want

I did.  I added front and rear fender tips - too plain Jane for me without 'em.  I put a lighted rear chrome fender tip, took off the dot that was there.  Looks great...then added two on the front fender...used a Road King tip for the forward part and two chrome side bars, then added the lower front chrome tip.  Looks good to me...personalized one might say!  I also added the chrome guards around the bags....rather scratch them then try and repaint those bags.
I'll try and add a pic for the rear - pic is from a maintenance paper I wrote.
I'll send a pic of the front in a following message (or at least try to).

Great job Tennisman.  I assume those pictures are the 2008 you have listed.  Looks very much like a factory job..., or better.  Would you still have the parts list hanging around somewhere that you can share?

I think the bumpers have a place on certain bikes.

Don't have it all - only have the rear fender and bag related stuff I put on in June '08:

91067-07 Tri-Bar fender light kit
91216-97 Saddlebag guard kit

I bought the front fender tip and bars later and installed them myself.  I liked the Road King type best.  Here is the top front fender tip I bought:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441845039&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309149297&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309149297&bmUID=1295031224563&bmLocale=en_US

You need the little chrome bars that run back along the fender for the front fender tip too.  They are here:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524447501845&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302289047&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302289047&bmUID=1295031039951&bmLocale=en_US

Then the front fender lower tip is like this one:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441844959&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309149297&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309149297&bmUID=1295031154577&bmLocale=en_US

Hope this helps.
