FLHTCUSE8 - Stock Hydraulic Clutch Line "length" ???
« on: March 12, 2013, 07:35:05 PM »

My new bars have arrived from Vindikta and I am in the process of ordering the remaing parts I'll need to complete the installation.

Does anyone know the overall length of the "stock" hydraulic clutch line on the 2013 models?

Also, has anyone routed the clutch line in the traditional fashion through the face of the inner fairing as was done previous to the 2013 model year change?

The stock 2012 was 69 inches I believe. I will check the package tonight when I get home.

Thanks guys!

Per SOTLucky the total length including fittings is 72" inches.

Per the MOCO the housing is 69.76" plus the the fittings.

I'm all set......will need to go an additonal +12". (10" up + 2" out)

Your +12 will be probably be +6 more than you need.  Your stock bars are about 6" or 7" high.

I used +6 on both my clutch and brake lines and I could have gotten by with +4.  That's on a FLHXSE3.

We shall see....we measured the stock bars vs. the new bars on a flat table top.

The new bars were a hair under 10" taller grip to grip and 2" wider end to end.

I''ve from past experience its better to be a little long then a little short, short your screwed ....long you can route creatively to take up any slack.

Also thinking we may run them the traditional way through the fairing and get rid of the cheap ugly plug the MOCO stuck in the dash as an afterthought.

Stock bars are 9" on the 2013. Also, they are 1" all the way not like the road glide as they are 1 1/4" all the way through.
