I like this style better, behind the shifter. I made mine out of metal stock and painted it black. Have a friend that's a machienest going to make me a new one out of stainless and polish it.

I'm about a size 10 for the boot,  I'm guessing if you wear a 12 or more,  the floor board space might be a factor.....other wise,  using the heel shifter is a plus to me.

It's obviously faster, and easier than pulling up with your toe.........On my 'old Wide Glide,  a single shifter using the toe either way was the deal........but on a Tour model,  I prefer having the heel shifter there.

That is the cover sticking out.... :P . Harley part. Most dealers have them in stock.
