S.E. 110 options

What are some different directions that a person can go with a 2009 S.E. 110. If you bore it out how big can you go? If you do a stoker crank, bore the cases, etc. Also what are some good cam choices for the different builds? Are the factory heads good to go or is it worth having a port job done?  It's a long story but my friend is totally rebuilding a granite cased 110 and is looking for good ways to make some big numbers. Just make it a 120. Use the HD 4 5/8 crank welded, trued and balanced. Port the stock heads and run HDs 266e cam larger injectors and a 58mm TB. It will be an animal

As stated above, but you can use the SE 263e cam for a more "bagger like" power band.
Would still be an animal........

To get to 120 all that is needed is the different crankshaft? Sounds like an easy way to go. Would you use the stock pistons for that build? Do you need to use special gaskets for the correct compression ratio? Excuse my ignorance but I really never have dealt with a 110.

Motor comes out, cases bored new bearings and seals minimum, timken case bearing upgrade, better plan. It won't be cheap but the result IMO will surpass the factory crate motor in longevity and performance. These motors need roller rockers, geometry correction, new premium guides and a bore and hone .010 OS to correct for the factory tolerances that IME with the "bigger bore cylinders" are + or minus .001". Starting with a 110 the heads are good and can be upgraded to better than the MVA head, the bottom end can be built properly by a shop that uses Hoban or by Hoban to truss, true and balance the assembly, and at the end the 110 crank has used parts value or trade in to or ebay.
I am helping a guy with one now. I will post when he gets it done.

The SE book is your friend in this case but to stay with the granite cases and heads it will take a hybrid option.

if you want to keep the granite cases oyu will have to have them machined
