2002 SERK Cam choices???
« on: March 01, 2011, 12:45:58 PM »

I have an 02 SERK with Rinehart True Duels, Wimmer Velocity Stack and a PCIII. I want to go gear drive and make more power low to mid. Also looking to bolt in not modify piston to valve clearance. I like the thump of a nice cam and want it to pull hard. So what are my choices? Also I believe now would be the time for a Feuling pump. Any help would be appreciated.

John, if you're looking to add some cam, but not a big cam, that delivers all of its improvement down low where we want it with a heavy bike I've been very pleased with Dave Mackie's 510 cams.  I did the gear drive with the Feuling pump and cam plate at the same time.  All this was on the old 2000 Road Glide.  Also a 95".

Bike pulls well and runs great.  No complaints at all.  Brian will sing Mackie's praises to you also.  The bike has 93 ft pds torque at 2500, 95 at 3000 and it stays at 95 flat to 5000.  This was with no head work.  There'd be more in there if I ever wanted to pull the heads.

I had good luck with an '04, 95" build using a gear drive Andrews 37.  Had SBC do the heads, used SE pistons and a PCIII.  It was a real stump puller, ran great on pump gas and got 45 mpg alll day long.

Good luck with your build.
