Filter covers
« on: March 23, 2011, 10:20:04 PM »

Anyone have experience with the MoCo Heavy Breather filter covers? These are the black jobs with the milled slots.
I'm concerned about restriction and consequent power loss.
Anyone?

These are the ones I'm talking about, thought they might pop pretty nicely with the new pipe.
Anyone try these or know how much they restrict airflow?

I installed one on my 08FLHR after having the HB for about a year. I didn't notice in difference in the power and it never seemed like it was starving or restricted in any way. Although I didn't Dyno it after installing the cover, I never noticed a difference in response from throttle to rear wheel. Being a Chrome Addict I did love the way it made the HB pop out more on the bike!

You're right, I think it might look a little odd with a chrome elbow.
I initially misread the ad to mean the "two part" kit would cover the elbow too; then I saw the black HB kit for sale separately and realized the combo would cost more than a quality dyno run.

I'll give you one guess where my spare nickels are going to be spent.
