Passenger Floorboards
« on: April 23, 2006, 06:59:06 PM »

Today was first longer ride on my new SEUC for my wife.  She said it felt like the passenger floorboards need to be further forward.  I know I can adjust them up and down.  Anyone have any ideas on what I might do?  Or does Harley make some type of adjustable mount to take care of this problem.

Maybe it's just my wife.  But you tell her, not me.   ;D

I don't know if HD has anything but I believe Kuryakyn sp? does. BUT watch out for her feet hitting the back of your legs. My wife has to move her feet when I need to put mine down.  ::)

Hi DakotaZeb,
Maybe you could have the same effect by using the tour pak relocation bracket made by Mr.Anderson if you don't already have it? If your wife can scoot back some she will have more leg room too. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Swap left for right!  It will put the longer part to the outside giving the impression that they are longer...and gain the added space to addd saddlebag guard gags.

Gotta clean the bottom of the footboard and the bag!

DakotaZeb,

I think this would be the best thing to try as if you flip the floorboards it will really crowd your legs when you need to hold bike up. Moving the tour pak back will get her further back and hence should help her leg position. IMHO

DakotaZeb,

I think VaEagle hit the nail on the head - rather than move the floorboards forward, move the tourpak back.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Don't know why I didn't think to move the tour pack back.  So I just finished moving the tour pack.  Had the wife sit on the bike in the garage to see how it felt now.  Still not sure that moving the tour pack solved the problem.  Now the back of her calf is contacting the crash bar and preventing her from moving her foot back further on the floorboard.  I'll try it this way for awhile and see how it goes.

It seems to me that the floorboards are further back than they were on my Road King.  On the RK when I would back the bike out of the garage and the passenger floorboards were in the down position my calfs would contact the floorboards.  Never bothered when they were up.  But the difference between the RK and the SEUC for me could also be that the rider sits further forward on the SEUC than on the RK.

We will work it out.  After all, if we didn't have any problems we would need this web site.   :)

Thanks, again.
