Popping & Banging
« on: April 21, 2011, 08:07:22 AM »

Only done 500 miles so far, but have noticed that it pops and bangs when warm when closing the throttle, and I mean at least 3 pops one bang and a couple of spits. I have stage one with vance & hines is this normal or is it set up wrong?

It sounds like it is set up wrong.  You're getting raw fuel on deceleration and that is causing the banging.  I have a ThunderMax tuner and there is a setting for it.  Check with your tuner guy.

When you say you have "stage one with vance and hines", what exactly does that mean?  What air cleaner, what pipes, and most importantly what tuning has been done?  It could be an air leak in the exhaust, a tuning problem, etc., but it isn't normal.

It's the Harley screamin eagle tuner and air filter kit, with the vance Hines big radius pipes, it seems to me there is
Unburnt Fuel in the barrel.
