2001 SERG Access. switch
« on: March 02, 2011, 06:08:26 PM »

I picked up my 2001 SERG on Saturday and even though it was clean & well cared for, I put it up on the jack and did my own cleaning, polishing & waxing to get to know every inch of this beauty. No surprises, it's in great shape & I love it. :jalapeno:
I read the owners manual cover to cover and have a question. The owners manual states that the Accessory Switch operates accessories and to contact my dealer for accessories. It also says that the hook up is under the seat. I pulled the seat & don't see a "hood up".
Can anyone tell me what this switch is for, what kind of accessories I would us it for, and where exactly it is and what it looks like?
Also the previous owner gave me his heated jacket liner & gloves. He said that they plug in to the Battery Tender lead. Is that accurate?

Can anyone tell me where the accessory plug is on a 2001 SERG and what type of accessories can be plugged into it?
Thanks

Look in the "hole" in front of the battery.  You'll find a four wire Deutsch connector in there.  That plug carries the accessory circuit that is switched by the accessory switch.  It could power anything you might choose to wire to it.

Heated clothes need to go to an A+ circuit just like the battery tender.  So, yes, your heated clothes can plug in to the same plug the battery tender does.

I made a a heated clothing harness that connects to the acc switch. Just go to HD dealer and buy a battery tender cable and have the add the deutch plug that will go into the acc plug then you can turn your cloths on and off with the switch. almost like a heated clothing controller.
