New FLHTCUSE6 BIG BLUE coming, WHICH MUFFLERS? What to do?
« on: April 03, 2011, 11:03:09 PM »

Hello American Friends,
Aussie Cowboy here, with BIG BLUE coming...  Our Dyno tests show the V&H cross overs have the highest performance increase.  That is a given for me... But what after that?

On my last Ultra I had the SE Slash down, and I like the look of the twin tail pipes sticking out the back...  Is there anything that can be done with these stock pipes?  I like it LOUD and LOW rumble, then there is no blind spot, people feel me there.   I have modified Super Trap ones now on my SESG, and they fit the bill, but do not stick out the back as much.

I kind of like the look of these... so: Do these stock pipes have a baffle that can be removed?

You can do the Fullsac exhaust...Xpipe for the header, and buy the 2.25 cores is you want loud.  The cores come in 1.75, 2.0, and 2.25.  That, and a TTS tuner, with one of Steve's (Fullsac) MAPs should do the trick for you.

You can contact Steve here on the site in the Vendor section.  If I'm not mistaken, the Xpipe is very much like (if not identical) to the V&H header you're talking about, plus, it's ceramic coated.  In addition, he has done maps for those combinations mentioned for use with the TTS Mastertune, so no need for a Dyno Tune unless you just want to try and eek out that last minute amount of HP/TQ due to no two engines being EXACTLY the same.  I don't have any stats to back this up, but any two stock motors probably only vary by .05% or less.

I have the 1.75 Fullsac's and they are quieter than the Rineharts.  The 2.0"  are similar to Rineharts.

The 2.25 are plain loud.

Thanks Guys,

I will have to see what is available here.  Shipping is the KILLER...  Unless the Fulsac is here, I will have to go with the V&H..  Our tests show that extractor thing cleans the other cylinder a bit, venturi effect extractor and it adds the biggest power boost of all tested.  I will ask about the Fulsac to see if it is here or not and report back...

Thank you..

Fullsac is a great set up- to the OP, their only shop is in Arizona, but contact them, and maybe they can ship to you for a reasonable cost.

Fullsac 1.75. Nice rumble and still hear radio normal volumes. Easy to install with that stock look.

Cowboy, I don't want to start a loudness war but, I disagree with Diamondback. I have the Fullsac 2.25" on my 09SEUC and to me they are not loud. I am OK with how they sound and there loudness I like them and for the money saved from not buying other pipes I love them. Maybe it's just my old 55 year old ears, even my wife says mine is not even close to being as loud as her 03RKC with Rush slipons,(which she takes great joy in telling me). I admit I was a little disappointed they were not as loud as the Rush pipes but on the plus side I can still hear XM Radio at 80mph on the freeway. Try to hear some Fullsacs before you buy.

I agree...my 2.25" fullsacs are not that loud....no problem hearing the radio on the highway.

New 4 inch Rineharts with a 2.5 inch baffle will make it pretty loud
and a very deep sound. kinda like thunder.
