My shop is making me nervous about the Ricor Intiminators
« on: April 09, 2011, 11:06:59 AM »

He just installed them, and says they are way too stiff, and says they'll likely ride very rough.

Keep in mind he's just installed them- he hasn't ridden the bike yet. Also keep in mind he's never heard of the Intiminators until now- he sells the Racetec valves.

I guess I'll find out his final verdict once he takes it for a spin, but until then, I'm getting nervous.

Any opinions from anyone who has these? Do they normally feel stiff while just sitting there?

Ricor Intiminators a nice improvement for me.  Better feeling front end over the bumps & dips, along with much less front end dive under braking.  Good luck,

I kind of thought the same right at first when Hddude installed the AK-20's but soon realized how much better it was once I rode for awhile. But as some have said ride for awhile then try a stock front again and see the difference. You won't want to go back to stock.

Yes he used that oil as i supplied it. Im not gonna worry about it until i take it for a ride and test them. I dont think he put in much oil so i suppose its easy enough to add more if need be.

No, it is not an especially easy chore.  He needs to get it right the first time.

The Intiminators don't work from the top down, but the bottom up. So if he's pushing on the handlebars, yeah it will feel stiff. But when you run over a bump the wheel goes up and the Intiminator absorbs the shock. They work real well and I love mine. Feels like you're running over rubber, not wood or metal, when you hit a bump.  Just try them.

I have about 6000 miles on my Intiminators and would never go back to a stock configuration.  As was stated, just pushing down on the front end doesn't show how the Ricor's work.  In my opinion, the Ricor's and a good set of rear shocks, make a marked improvement in handling.

Thanks for everyones advice and re-assurance.

Like everyone said, it worked out fine. Front end dive is greatly reduced, and it rides much better over bumps and road irregularities. Front end generally feels more solid and grounded.

Thanks again.  :2vrolijk_21:
