I did the stainless bolts on the derby cover/primary ect. and still did not like it so I had to add the snap in inserts for the allen bolts before being satisfied. Would have been easier and cheaper to do the Hot Toppers. I covered the SEDFB with the Toppers immediately.

$.02:  It looks like I'll have the unpopular opinion here but I'll through it out for consideration. 

For about the same $$ as the Hot Toppers, you can get a "Builders Kit" from Gardener Westcott (and other suppliers),  a full set of chromed, stainless bolts for the engine, transmission, rocker boxes, derby & timing covers, etc.  While they certainly take longer to install than Toppers, they are better bolts then the HD cadmium (which are poisonous, btw) and if you ever have to work on the motor, you will save time without the extra steps of removing and replacing the covers.  I guess I have an aversion to non functional, decorative covers as opposed to a quality piece, in this case, bolt.

I like those....but sometimes you will get rust buildup in the hex head where the tool fits in. I like the 12pt bolt heads personally.

That is possible but I've not had the problem.  Perhaps because I dry the bike with a blower.  I've not had to do it but am told that if you get rust, clean with WD-40 and dab in some clear nail polish.   
The 12 point bolt heads look good too....
