But You Didn't See Me...
« on: May 08, 2006, 08:59:54 PM »

But, You Didn't See Me..........

I saw you,
hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.

But, you didn't see me,
put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you,
pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.

But, you didn't see me,
playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you,
change your mind about going into the restaurant.

But, you didn't see me,
attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you,
roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.

But, you didn't see me,
driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you,
frown at me when I smiled at your children.

But, you didn't see me,
when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you,
stare at my long hair.

But, you didn't see me,
and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you,
roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.

But, you didn't see me,
and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.

I saw you,
look in fright at my tattoos.

But, you didn't see me,
cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you,
change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.

But, you didn't see me,
going home to be with my family.

I saw you,
complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.

But, you didn't see me,
when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you,
yelling at your kids in the car.

But, you didn't see me,
pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you,
reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.

But, you didn't see me,
squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you,
race down the road in the rain.

But, you didn't see me,
get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you,
run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.

But, you didn't see me,
trying to turn right.

I saw you,
cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.

But, you didn't see me,
leave the road.

I saw you,
waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.

But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you,
go home to your family.

But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....

A person with friends and a family.
BUT, YOU DIDN'T SEE ME.......

Please remember our fallen brothers and sisters  as riding season starts.
And watch out for all those jerks in cars that don't give a sh_t.

Ride safe!

Heard about this from a bro at the Patriot Guard rides for a couple of fallen hero's this past weekend and thought I'd pass it along. If you get a chance check out the guard . . . http://www.patriotguard.org  We had two funerals this week here in michigan with the protesters at both, proud to stay thanks to our brothers and sisters the family never saw or heard them - 150 bikes at the first, 300 at the second - flags galore. The protesters deserve no recognition but I thank God for the show of support for the families they have inspired, and the Guard will ride long after anyone remembers the wacko's that spurred its founding. It is a simple organization that, just show up when needed, all welcome. There were more than a few big bad hairy biker types with high eyeball humidity at the events, and much thanks from many townspeople that didn't quite know what to think at first.

Not surprised this place doesn't miss a beat, I just can't keep up with it, need a button on the top like the "Last 40 Posts" that shows "New Posts Since Last Visit" - I'm always catching stuff in mid thread!!! :D

Now I see why I didn't see it - it was in Humor - I stay away from that after passing a few lines along to the misses and paying for it.... ::)

ceej - Patriot Guard.... a sorry state of affairs in our country that the group was ever necessary to begin with. Scumsucker Westboro bunch needs to experience that type of loss firsthand... then maybe, just maybe they would understand the depth of loss experienced by those left behind. Not all agree with our country's involvement in Iraq but this sure isn't the way to express dissent to that involvement.  :-/

Respect for America's Fallen Heroes Act - Prohibits a person from carrying out a demonstration: (1) at a cemetery under the control of the National Cemetery Administration or at Arlington National Cemetery, unless the demonstration has been approved by the cemetery superintendent or director; or (2) within 500 feet of a cemetery at which a funeral or memorial service is to be held, for a period beginning 60 minutes before and ending 60 minutes after the funeral or service, if such demonstration includes any individual making noise or a diversion that disturbs the peace or good order of the funeral or service.

Amends the federal criminal code to provide criminal penalties for violations of such prohibitions.

Expresses the sense of Congress that each state should enact legislation to restrict demonstrations near any military funeral.

Hopefully this will get passed and those that disrupt funerals of our fallen heroes will get what they deserve.

fireDood, hope you get the chance to go, wish I could be there. I noticed two michigan sponsors, We have had quite a problem with them here for some reason and we have a state bill that would require 500 feet distance for protests. I question if this proposed federal bill would stand up to a constitutional challenge.

d00d,

I'm sure they will get a great turn out even with the short notice for such an important show of support and strength.

Hope you can get there. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
