Got my Exhaust
« on: May 09, 2011, 02:10:21 PM »

Got my D&D FatCats installed with the Thundermax AutoTuner. Runs great. A little louder than I thought it would be but I guess thats better than being too quiet! I'll try and post some pictures.

Looks like a two into one on the right side but did I not see two pipes from the rear?

Now you will have to get a speaker upgrade to hear the music. :huepfenlol2: Then louder pipes and on and on...........

Looks like TwoToes invested in a "qhost" pipe. Just sits there and look pretty.

I don't blame him. I like to see two pipes on a bagger. That still will not give a balanced sided sound but if the performance is good enough it might be acceptable. To each his won for sure. That is why they call it your bike and my bike. :bananarock:

I totally agree regarding the look. On my 2009 Project Bike, my mechanic tried to talk me into the D&D 2 to 1 Boarzilla .. wanted an extra $350 for the "ghost" pipe.... cough, cough. Since the 2009 (non-CA) doesn't have a CAT on it, I told them to use D&D Slip-ons. They complained that I'd get more power (10-15hp) with the 2-to-1 and I asked them if that was a guarantee. That ended the discussion and I have slip-ons now :)

I had the D&D slip on last time and didn't like it. Was told the Boarzilla was a lot louder so went with the FatCats. Love them, got more power as promised and plenty of sound. Didn't like the single pipe look either so spent the $$$ and got the ghost pipe for the left side.

Thanks Jim, I too think it looks better with more black. My dealer sold a green bike to someone who wanted all chrome so we swapped the chrome for the black engine covers, primary cover, tranny cover etc. Now he has chrome on the green bike and I have black on the black bike. Don't know why the factory didn't offer the black bike already blacked out like the green one? I left some chrome on, like the engine guard and handlebars, to match the rims which are black and chrome already. Didn't want to go completely all black. I like the two tone look. Here's a close up picture of the ghost pipe.

I have a ghost pipe going on mine also. I think it looks much better with one one each side, even without the streched bags. I plan on painting the inside of the ghost flat black to make it look real... :-X
