2004 SEEG Front brakes
« on: May 31, 2011, 08:25:49 PM »

I am going to install new brake pads tomorrow night. What is the best way to blled the front bakes? Do I need to bleed both sides at the same time or can they be done one at a time??

Thanks,
Cobalt..

One at a time, furthest from the master cylinder first...

Erniezap, thank you very much, I bleed them once before and it took 2 blled cycles to get the air out each one of the calipers. The pads looked a little thin so I believe its time for new pads.

you should not have to bleed them to change the pads... just use a gentle application of a pair of wood wedges between the pads [one from each end] be gentle and patient.. if the rez gets too full you may need to remove some.

if you want to bleed to change the fluid - get the new pads installed and on first and then gravity bleed into a jar with a hose

No problem at all.  If you are going to change pads, you might want to look at the LRB pads.  Less dust, better braking, better feel than stock.

I agree with Ernie.   That's all I buy now.  LRB brakes make a huge difference.  :2vrolijk_21:
