Fullsac x-pipe vs Harley
« on: May 25, 2011, 11:48:40 PM »

What is the performance difference between the X-pipe from Fullsac versus the stock pipe with the cat removed?  I did this before Fullsac $450 bucks?

From what I remember, when Fullsac first came out with the X pipe, he had a post on here with dyno results of non cat headpipe vs his and the X pipe was around 4 hp more and slightly better in torque.

Do a search with Fullsac in the title and started by Fullsac and you will find it.  FWIW, I decatted my headpipe and am happy.  I do believe the sound is a little different/better with Steve's pipe.  If his was also a little cooler, it could be worth it.

The Fullsac x pipe is cooler than stock- it's ceramic coated.

The other difference is that it has a stepped header design, and the collector is a different design- it's actually smaller, but I assume it must flow better if that's the design he came up with. I think the Fuel Moto collector chamber is also smaller.

The stock pipe "X" collector area is cast rather than welded tube (according to my dealer).  I found some really good info on the physics behind exhaust design at http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/exhausttech.htm

You may want to have your dealer actually LOOK at one.......he (she) will notice a flattened tube welded to 2 cast pieces......so, I guess he's (she's) partially correct!

Here is a shot of a x-pipe, there are 3 different styles (I think) and this one is for a trike we did a few months ago. A little longer tail piece, but you get the idea.
