Hogtunes lower fairing install question for 2011 RGU CVO
« on: June 29, 2011, 06:44:24 PM »

Ok, so most of the way through the install and apparently the RGU does not have the "quick disconnects" on the fairing speakers. I called Hogtunes but had to leave a message and after a few hours, nobody returned my call, so I'm stuck.

I ended up wiring the amp and lower fairing speakers, and as a test, ran the factory speaker cables to the Hogtunes amp pass-through, then ran the pass-through output cables back to the fairing speakers.  It sounds awesome and works great, but the instructions distinctly say NOT to use the cables connected directly to the speakers.

According to the wiring diagram, its the same wiring pattern as if there were disconnects, so any reason to not leave it wires as is and button it up?  I want to ride tomorow and not wait for HT to get back to me. Thanks!

Ok, after reviewing wiring again I'm NOT supposed to go direct to speakers, but still trying to find correct harness to tap into. I found the same color wires, but need to verify those arent running right to the speakers. Wish I had a wiring diagram!

I wish I could offer some assistance, but unfortunately I can't and leave all the tech stuff to the pros at HogTunes.

I'm surprised to hear that Pez hasn't returned your call yet... They are usually great with their service.  Possibly with Americade, Laconia, etc. they've been out of town???

If you don't hear from them soon I would try emailing them.

Good luck with it, and again I'm sorry I couldn't help.
