Hard ride

I have a 2005 electra glide.  With one pound of air in the shocks the bike rides hard as a rock.  If the shocks hold air can they still be bad?  Just noticed this getting worse over the past few months.

You may have a bad guage.  You are using a hand pump, right?

Take them off, throw them away and install some Progressive 440's.  They changed my bike.
To keep up with the Jonse's, install the BiTubo's but I have learned from this site, I cannot keep up.
I spend my money on booze, broads and cigars, the rest I waste.

One of the 1st mods was to put the 440's on the rear of my SEEG.  Noticable ride improvement especially 2 up.  What setting do you guys use on the 440's?

I don't rightly know, but the 2up ride is waaay better...I guess about 4-5 turns stiff from soft.
