Road Glide's max speaker sizes
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:34:35 AM »

A good friend of mine is looking to go all out with his new 2012 yellow chrome road glide's stereo.  My question is if we cut out or into the glove boxes what is the largest speaker that will fit.  They will be cut into the inside of the inner fairing firing inward toward the handlebars?  We were hoping to get the biggest sub woofers possible!  Also has anyone found the 5x7 adaptors only for the stock speaker location.  I know hog tunes has them but will sell only with their speakers.  Thought I would check with you guys for any insight and opinions.
                                                              Thanks again, Cory

Yaffe at Bagger Nation sells the conversion for larger speakers. His kit will let you go to 6.5's without modification or cutting. His speakers in the bag lids are pretty trick too.  Doc

Thx for the link Grandpa.  We were hoping for like 8" or 10" subs!  If will work?

Also try Hawg Wired...they are not listed on their website yet, but apparently they do have new adapters for the Road Glide.

There is a lot of room in there for big magnets, its just the width that will limit you.  Doc

Has anyone heard of, seen or know if 10" subs can be cut in and installed in the lower part of the inner fairing?  We are fine with cutting into the glove boxes if it will allow them to fit.
