2010 FLHTK w/ RH Extreeme TD (need to quiet this)
« on: July 13, 2011, 08:57:59 AM »

Have been doing a lot of reading on how to quiet these mufflers down. Have tried warpping w/ fiberglass but that was a waste as there straight through mufflers. Also ordered the smart parts baffles which was just too sloppy of a install so I sent them back.

I have read in the past that the Rinehart/ Bub offered a quiet baffle but that was not much quieter then stock and also made the mufflers wound like SHIX.

So I'm wondering in the Clearine quiet baffle would actually quiet these down to a acceptable level. Done get me wrong I like the sound around town but on the road it gets old REAL FAST!

Would hate to have to replace the mufflers w/ somthing else or just remove the complete system as that would requre a remap. BTW I'm running the SERT in the bike.

Thanks

Check out Big City Thunder baffles, or see if the Fullsac cores are compatible with your mufflers.

Called BCT a few weeks ago and they have somthing that they say would work for around $160 or so, it requires drilling a hole in the head pipe.  Its sounds like a option if I can not find any others. The thing is that I'm trying to find some feedback on this stuff before I bite the bullett. Would hate to be dropping coin and drilling only to find out that its not all that good.

Also just called Fullsac and they offer no options.

Again was wondering if anyone had actually tried the Clearline/ Rinehart Quiet baffle and if so were they satisfied with the sound?

Update:
I called Rinehart and they told me flat out they do not offer a quiet baffle. I saw these on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RINEHART-EXHAUST-2-QUIET-BAFFLES-4-TRUEDUALS-SLIP-ONS-/120725785272 so I called Eastern Performance and was told that these were from Rinehart and were 20% quieter anyone try these?
TIA,
JJR
