looking for info on true dual header pipes
« on: April 30, 2009, 12:31:19 AM »

I have an '06 SEUC with a SERT and Rush slip-ons.  I am considering making it true duals.  I have been looking at the Bassani power curve header pipes.  I have heard that they dyno almost the same as 2 into 1.  Has anyone had any heat issues with this pipe.  I have heard that due to the power curve there is a lot of heat on the left side under the seat.

If anyone has input on header pipes please advise.

Thanks,

Topper

I have had 2 bikes with Bassani's power curve headpipe, perform exceptionally well, your right inner thigh will feel the heat on hot summer days or parading in traffic, i installed a set of kury's saddle shields and they did help. I'm about detail with fit & finish, I thought the heat shields alignment were little to be desired.

 ???

One of our lead road captains just installed the V&H power duals and monster ovals.  Had his SSERT tuned and loves the nreults.  He's a tech guy and will spend hours squeezing out the last drop of power.

91 hp but over 100 ft-lbs of torque from 2500 to over 4000.

I like Rineharts and there true duals look good and Iv'e not heard of any heat issues.

Has anyone had experience with the Rush ceramic coated dual header pipes?  They are virtually the same price as V&H dresser duals.  I am curious about the shield coverage on the Rush, V&H quotes 220 degree coverage.  I hope to learn if the ceramic appreciably reduces rider bake, and if the ceramic coating is always black or is it gray/silver with the chrome shield set.

Have them on my '07 SEUC. Have not Dyno'd them yet. I have ThunderHeader slip ons. Tuners i have talked with say the Bassani are fine but the T.H. are poor low end back pressure. As far as heat ....yup, you will need rider heat shields. As far as fittment... i had to shorten left pipe by 3/8 " for the combo i have. The heat shields will need to be hand curved/formed at each intersection so that they "wrap" as well as they can. Hope this helps. Oh and by the way, I LOVE MY SOUND AND LOOKS !!!!!

Ummmmm errrrrrrrrrrrr, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh If this is from a 110 engine that's not very impressive. I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond that with stock headpipes and SE 65115-98B muffs on a 103.

Best numbers I've seen with mods to other areas of the engine being done as well come from the Bassani head pipes. Fugly to some, work of art to others, whatever you feel about them they work. As I've states before, Dave Mackie recommends them if you've got to go with duals. And Mr Mackie knows of what he speaks.

You can't beat the good two into one systems though.
