V&H Power duals VS fullsac X-pipe
« on: July 15, 2011, 12:19:24 PM »

Looking to change after breaking bike in. SE 2011 SG  I can get the power duals a little cheaper but everyone keeps talking about fullsac X pipe. Is thier going to be that big of a differance about the same.    woods cam 555  VS andrews 54

Difference of what?
I've heard but not ridden both, and IMO they are about the same overall with power, sound.
I think the sound is quieter with the Fullsac pipe and 1 3/4 cores. It is so subjective, but, the sound is nicer to my old ears.

Not much if any power difference.  Ridden both.

I like the Fullsac 1.75 also.

They are very close, from what I've heard, in performance.  The difference is the Fulsac's are stepped and ceramic coated (this supposedly helps with heat management), and you use the stock heat shield to give you the stock look.  The Power Duals, which I have on my SESG, and am very happy with them, are not stepped nor coated (I don't really have a major heat issue either), and they have their own distinctive heat shields over the "x" portion of the pipes.  I don't know if the Fulsacs, because of being stepped give the same performance characteristics as the Rhinehart pipes (torque is a little lower on the low end, but horsepower is a little higher on the high end), but the performance difference should be negligible between the two.  It boils down to looks I guess.  :nixweiss:

IMO, I think you would only see a difference on a dyno, and even that would be slight. 8)

remember fulsac has the "a" x pipe and "b" x pipe depending on what size engine it will be used on
