Power Lock Module Location
« on: October 21, 2012, 03:50:33 PM »

Hey, could one of you SEUC guys help me out with something?  I need to know where the power lock module (receiver) is located on your bikes.  I'm looking through the online microfiche, and they show the module and it's bracket with the other switches and stuff, and the battery tray is shown on another page.  I can't see where this bracket mounts under the side cover.  The P&A power lock kit (obsolete) shows a different bracket for the 2008 bikes, but obviously our frame and battery tray are different.

Even if you could just pop off your side covers and take a couple of pictures for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.  It's probably also listed somewhere in your service manuals....for those of you who have them.  I have a stack of manuals, but none of my bikes are CVO Ultras, so they cannot help me.

Thanks in advance.

the power lock reciever is in the fairing on the left side looking from the front of the bike. It is mounted on a brace that also holds your fairing stereo speaker

No kidding?  Weird.  I had no idea.  Anyone have a picture of it mounted in place?

That sounds like the location for the rain gauge air temp gauge sensor.  Same area for both?

FWIW attached is a PDF page from the PDF install doc for the P&A kit to install the wireless locks.  Might be different in an OE install.  But the kit installation shows the receiver to the right side of the battery.  Attached image extracted from the PDF.

Yeah, that's the problem.  I have those instructions, but they're for an '08.....and the battery tray changed completely with the new frame in '09...so I need to see how it is done from the factory on the newer CVO Ultras.

Go up to reply #3 from ultrafxr and click on the pdf file he attached.  The late model CVO's have the bracket and module mounted to the radio speaker brace in the fairing, not at the battery tray.

Somehow, I completely missed his reply.  Thanks for pointing me back up to it.  That clears up my questions....now I just have to find another way to do it, since I won't have enough wire to run all the way to the fairing.  Oh well, back to the drawing board.  Thanks again.
