I am looking to upgrade my Headlight Bulbs on my bike, 2010 CVO Streetglide - keep the unique half moon/split headlight...

There are 2 of them in the headlamp, I want to go a bit brighter, a slight Blue Tint is OK with me... (since my bike is "Blue")

I am not interested in HD's LED ($530.00) or Kuryakyn Healdlamp (FUGLY for $250.00) ... can't justify the costs...

Are they H4 types, H3, HB2, H9, H11 or H7 bulbs? what Bulb wattage is a definite upgrade vs. factory?

Do you have to remove fairing to replace bulbs or can you get access via the front headlight housing?

Any proven experience is greatly appreciated...

Larry,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the HD Bulb, I wanted to find out what "H" series is the bulb?

For the price of "1" from HD bulb replacements - I can buy 6 of these ones for future uses...

H8 and H11 are the two bulbs in the dual halogen headlamp. H4 is the single hi/low bulb for the standard headlamp

Swap out the low beam for an HID retro. Kits are pretty cheap now and practically plug-n-play. Anyone that has done this retro will tell you its a great upgrade.Just don't get a kit from ebay. Everyone here that has done it has their favorite dealer. The higher the "K" the bluer the color. 4500K is white-6000K is a bit blue and up from there. You wont be sorry you did it. And MUCH cheaper the the new LEDs.

I have found that "Automotive" bulbs do not last as long in a motorcycle.  Just my experience your mileage may vary.

The Piaa is a great bulb.  Make a big difference for 45.00.    I'm glad I have them.  I'm my headlight and my spots

That was the main reason I switched to HIDs. Try to find an H11 on the road. $80 for a pair of PIAAs that don't last near as long as the HIDs won me over to the "brite side".
I would like to see a side by side of the LEDs against the HIDs. Price wise the HIDs win hands down.
