My review of this magazine:
I'm surprised that more people don't subscribe to Motorcycle Consumer News. It's not the flashy, glossy, magazine full of girlie pics and show bikes that they want to pay for a home with, when they sell it. It's a magazine that's similar to Consumer Reports, but for the motorcycle industry. They do not accept any advertsing and have been 100% subscriber spported since 1991.
They have outstanding real world testing for products that we use. It's where I learned that the best rain suit tested (there were quite a number of them) is on the lower end of the price range. They water test with a fire hose (a bit more than a down pour at 70 mph) and also take into consideration things like cuffs leaking, mesh liner (to keep the suit from sticking to you and so you don't sweat.....it breathes), soft courduroy coller, nomex on the insides of the pants legs, ability to get into pockets with gloves on, etc. etc.
Just scanning articles out of the past year, here are some of the titles:
2012 Harley Davidsons, Camping 101; Part IV, Lane Sharing, Waterproof boot comparison, Legends of Motorcycling, (a regular feature) Mental Motorcycling, Proficient Motorcycling, Innovation-Fast Track helmet rack, Helmet Cam Shootout-Round2, (another regular feature) Medical Motorcycling, Motorcycle Design, Tire Changing machines, Great Detinations, etc. etc.
Sometimes I get my subscription issue and not much looks to be of interest (other than a couple of their regular columns). Other issues I'll find an article or articles that makes the subscription well worth it and am glad to be a subscriber.

By the way, they also list all the recalls in each issue, by make. Don't look now but the Goldwing has a brake switch recall. It's this magazine where I've learned that many of the issues we have......other brands have also. And where I've learned that some of the issues that we have seem to be minamal compared to some of the issues they have.
