So my new smoked rear turn signal modules are arriving on Saturday.

Any ideas on how easy / hard a job it is to replace them? any tips would be much appreciated!

Cheers all

    • CVO1: FLSTSE3 and lovin' it
    • CVO2: FLSTSE2 and loved it but sold it
    • CVO3: FLHXSE Tequila (sold)

You also need the rear wiring harness and loose the rear fender light. Not a hard job, 2 hours max.

Cheers, Kev

Hi, can't help you with that but am curious as to whether you have the RED US LEDS or were you able to get the smoked envelopes with Amber ?

I'd also like to know if you managed to get the Amber flashing LED's & if so could you post up the part numbers. I was going to order the following;
69383-09
69407-09
however the dealer could not guarantee they would be Amber flashing so as yet have not ordered anything.

Cheers, Paul.

Red ones I'm afraid - I couldn't find any reference to amber leds.

I don't think the reg plate light looks that bad personally and I've already changed the rear brake light to the Badlands low profile light.
I just want to install the smoked indicator leds to match the brake light - not bothered about using them a stop lights!

I've also changed the front flashers to the smoked versions.

I thought I would show you my smoked Envelope turn signals that still flash AMBER and only cost me £30 .....I covered the outside lens with smoked window tint film, does the job, really improves that back end. If I am being fussy I have to say there are one or two bubbles under film and some of my trimming on the curve could be better but you never study these things so closely again and the overall look is great I think.   :cucumber: :cucumber:

I probably have gone a little too dark but the light smoke didn't cover up the amber lens so well.

Damn, why didn't I think of that!!!

Maybe it would be better if you removed them before covering them. That way you could wrap the film around the edges so that they'd be a perfect fit when you re installed them?

I was just trying it out of interest to see how it looked and got carried away and trimmed them on the bike, with hindsight taking them off would have been a better job.....But looks good much better than the amber.
