Guppytrash,
As a pretty good Old School Engineer, unless something GRABS YOU like BIG BLUE did me, if you are happy with your 09 there is not a lot of reasons to upgrade.  Actually, you already have the upgrade, as 09 is the first year of ABS brakes, and the new style Touring Frame that handles better...  You already HAVE the upgrade...

Now it is just me two cents worth, but I did not see anything in the 2012 lineup...  Unless someone has a pre-09, there was nothing in it that turned my crank over...

Nope not interested in the 12 and that was not my intention.  Just thought some would appreciate the side by side photos.

I like my silver and blue.

I do want to add the GPS and the Ipod to mine and that expense alone would make a good size hole in the difference on a trade.
But I really like mine so I will just be adding the parts to it as a winter project.
I have been waiting as everyones phone is now a GPS and overall most GPS's have taken a huge drop in price.  I can only guess it will eventually flow into the zumo GPS.

Both bikes look really nice.  I will say, that 09 of yours happens to be a real favorite of mine.   I would hang onto that one for sure.  :2vrolijk_21:

those cheap hinges alone are a valid reason not to buy any 2012  ;D

They really should put those hinges on before it leaves the factory.   :nixweiss:

Have to agree!  Silly not to put the billit hinges on from the factory.  Easy fix I suppose.  Would have preferred short antennas rather than the fishing poles, and the easy off lower fittings would have been nice...  Chrome engine nuts and bolts would also be cheaper and easier to add from factory.  Guess the MoCo still prefers to sell things twice, and love the bike so much can't really feel right about bitching about the small stuff.  Now the cat is another question!

btw, traded a 09 UC for a '10 SEUC, of course, even the stock 110" is a vast improvement.  Also noticed the brakes seems smoother, don't understand why.  On the down side, they changed the seat slightly and the princess (seem to get more using princess than bitch  ;D) isn't happy with new seat ...

Cheers,

Rusty

Cowboy2, If you see my 2008 SEUC, please don't tell it that it doesn't have ABS.  It thinks it does.

There are certainly changes in the two years but very small ones I still think if you like the bike it's cheaper to add them on instead of trading.
