Again.. Ricor v. Progressive
« on: August 21, 2011, 09:03:31 AM »

I have done the searches and read all the posts.  I was hoping for a fresh, more current comparison of these two front end improvement products now that they have been around for a while, the Ricor intiminators and the Progressive monotubes.

I have a set of Intiminators I bought from a guy on the forum, but it turns out they are for pre 09 bikes and have a stiffer tune to match the softer fork springs on those models.  Brian from Ricor said he would retune them for me and I may send them in but I don;t really want to have these forks out more than once if I can help it.

I know, I should just get the Traxxion front end!

Neither part has changed any.  Since there was already a good pool of users for either the answers can't be expected to change much either :nixweiss: .

I thought that there may be more people that have actually tried both as time has passed and could make a comparison.  Maybe not!

I have the Ricor units and like them a lot, but I have not tried the progressive units.

I have no reason to try them, since the intiminadators fixed the front end dive.

I guess if I was inclined to spend money on the front end now, I would buy Traxxion front end.

I would want maximum improvement over incremental.

Most of my regrets in improvements come from compromising, and not buying what I really wanted.

You need to find the guy that replaced with
Ricor, then tried Progressive and still was unhappy and then tried Traxxion.

You said it...just get the Traxxion and be done with it!   :huepfenlol2:

Seriously, like most other mods, you'll never get the money back out of the Traxxion front end, so it kind of depends on two things:  Do you want the very best, and do you plan on keeping the bike long enough to get your enjoyment out of the change?  There are always unforseen things that may force the sale of any given bike (been there, got two t-shirts), but if you feel like the bike is a keeper, the money spent is worth it, IMO.
