2012 CVO Street Glide Tour-Pak Backrest Pad??
« on: August 29, 2011, 11:46:37 AM »

Can anyone tell me if the MoCo makes a Tour-Pak backrest pad to match the stock seat on the 2012 CVO Street Glide?  If so, what is the part number?  Thanks!

I doubt it.  They never made one to match the 2011 seat.

I have the same question... the dealer ordered one for my 2012 RGC CVO, I was there when they were searching for it in the catalog... could not find one listed for my bike, they ended up ordering one, not sure which one it was bu I am pretty sure it will NOT match the seat pattern...

Not only do they not make a matching pattern, there is no backrest available from HD that will mount....period.  I would bet that the RG is the same.

My bad...I had in my head the driver's backrest. :confused5:

Not sure you can see it very clearly in this picture, but I went with just the plain backrest for my tourpak.

I am concerned that the plain backrest will look too "plain" on the bike.  I was thinking about the Comfort Stitch backrest because it is not completely plain.  I don't plan on having the Tour-Pak on the bike too often anyways so maybe I am overthinking this... :nixweiss:

Overthinking is what we do around here.  I looked at it this way, if the tourpak is on the bike most likely means the wife is sitting back there coving the backrest anyway.  Also, I'm sure you can find someone to recover a stock backrest and make it look however you want it to.

That was going to be my approach and the number I gave them was for the plain one if they did not find an exact match... anyway... as you said, I can always get it redone locally to match.  Not like it will be on the bike that often.

Thanks!

I just ordered a color-matched TP for my 2012 CVO SG in Hot Citrus at the dealer yesterday, and went with the plain backrest to match the plain Reduced Reach seat and plain backrest I put on it. The only time the TP will likely be on the bike is on road trips anyway. The plain cover doesn't look bad... and the clean lines of the plain seat, plain rider backrest, and plain TP backrest will all at least match and be understated - and not be competing for attention with the bike itself. Like they could anyway...  :2vrolijk_21:
