I have a chamberlin liftmaster pro opener.

I thought I made a post here earlier,  now I don't see it.........Anyway,  My HD GDO did not have great range either......I helped it by adding a speaker wire from the HD (short black antenna wire) all the way to the (short antenna wire hanging from my original GDO motor above the door.

This seemed to help my situation,  maybe it could work for you.

Mine is plugged into the plug on the ceiling that is just above the garage door opener itself, It will open 75 foot from the door, maybe further, that is just where I normally hit it as I ride up. And as mentioned it is only a few inches from the opener asm.
