Hog Tunes for 06 and newer FLHTCUSE
« on: August 26, 2011, 06:42:31 PM »

Hello;
I am starting a new audio thread on just Hog Tunes for o6 and newer SEEGs.
Do you experience with hog Tunes on your SEEG?
I would like to know how you like your setup, advice you might have.
I know there are more expensive setups out there.  If you rate Hog Tunes a 8 out of 10.
I think I will be happy with it.  I do like rock music and I plan on keeping my HK unit.
Thanks

Sure...8 outa 10 sounds about right. I have heard better...way better....but also way more $$.
I've got the 'Big Ultra' kit in mine and good ole rock n roll sounds fine at 80 mph.  Best bang for the buck IMHO. Some Dynamat behind (or is it in front of)  the fairing made a big difference in the amount of base, too.

This kit is an awesome and easy to install kit for all 2006-current Ultra Classics/Tri Glides.

The kit comes complete with a Hogtunes amplifier, all 6 speakers, fairing lower adaptors, 100% plug and play wire harness, and all required hardware.

In this configuration the factory radio powers the front and rear speakers, and the Hogtunes amplifier is dedicated to the lowers.

The front 4 speakers in this kit are the new Hogtunes 902.2-AA speakers with our magnet technology that plays 20% louder than previous models.

The radios fader will continue to work with the front 4 speakers on the fronts half of the fader, and the rears on the rear side of the fader.

You can easily take this system up to 8 speakers as it’s compatible with Hogtunes very popular HF-1 “HOGPOD” tweeter bar. "

System "D"

Big Ultra System "D"

$750

This system has our new 160 watt amp apply 40 watts to each front speaker, and 40 watts to each rear speaker. This system is designed for the rider who does not want to give up the storage in the fairing lower glove boxes, but wants to hear clearly at highway speed. HF-1 Tweeter pod is easily added to create a higher powered, very popular 6 speaker system. All required hardware to complete the installation is supplied

What do you think?
« Reply #4 on: August 26, 2011, 10:43:59 PM »

I think the Speakers are different for the two systems.

What do you guys think real world performance between the two will be like?
I would like to know what to expect from the difference in power and speaker performance.

I like to tour in the mountain states and back roads.  I ride the interstate when I have to.
Why I am saying that is, I don't spend very much time at 75.

I heard some where we get a discount ?
and better warranty if we go thru...?
a little help please
Thanks

While I have no experience with HT's 160W amp or the speakers included in the kit, you already have a 160W amp on your bike, so I doubt you'd see an appreciable level of increased power by swapping the amps.  Neither amp can be bridged (i.e. change 4-channel 40W per channel to 2-channel 80W per channel).

Also, you'll need to change some wiring inside the fairing in order to retain fader control with the HT amp.

Ok I pulled the trigger

I bought the Hog Tunes set for CVO Ultra's
Six Speakers, 2 ch amp, and the Hog Pod Tweeter.
I want to keep my functions of the HK radio ie AVC.
I want a reliable setup with a good warrenty (20 years speakers).
I want to be able to play for hours touring, gas up and go again.
I should have it in sometime next week!
I'll let you know what I think of it.

Ihave the package installed and tested!
Package "C"  $680. delivered
Very Very Nice!
The wife and I rode up to Idaho Springs CO a 1/2 hr ride on I-70 at 70+ mph.
WOW!! It really sounds good.  We tested it with The Beatles Abby Road, a album that we are are very familuar with...yes I said album...*S
It is like flying in your own sonic cone of sound!  We could hear all the instruments with very good seperation, all vocals very clear.  All functions work perfect.  I really wanted to keep my AVC.
Hog Tunes has really done their homework and got it right!  That tweeter pod is Killer!
