Lyndall Racing Brakes
« on: September 05, 2011, 02:35:28 PM »

I just put Lyndall Racing Brakes gold pads and ceramic rotors on my '08 SERK. At 13K, my stock rotors had warped pretty badly. I wanted to go aftermarket because I have heard that the HD replacement rotors are prone to warpage and I dont want to have to keep replacing rotors every 10K miles. They were expensive, but I think it will be worth it.
I just finished it and have only ridden it for a short test ride so I cant give an accurate impression yet.

I have used Lyndall pads on some previous bikes with good results. Those rotors look really badazz. I like.  :2vrolijk_21:

I bought them direct from Lyndall.  They're located near my house so I was able to personally pick them up.

I painted all the rotor bolts gloss black with hi-temp caliper paint. I think they look better against the chrome than they did as bare metal. I could'nt find chrome ones, so this is the next best thing.
Opinions ?  How do you think they look ?

These arent the standard rotor buttons These are actually the bolts that mount the rotors to the wheel.
Apparently the '07 & '08 Roadking SE3 & SE4 use different rotors and hardware than everything else.  Go figure.  I found that out when I had to go to two different HD dealers to get all ten bolts. Each dealer only stocked five and they first tried to give me the standard bolts. I had to show them a picture of my front wheel and rotor before they understood.  At both dealers, the parts guy said that he didnt know there were different set ups.

I really like the Gold pads.  Can't tell you how many sets I've used.  Many.  I do not like their "floating" rotors.  I have a set that were rebuilt twice and failed very early three times!  I admit that I just stopped leveraging the lifetime warranty.

You should be fine.  Scuz the editorial!!!
