Candy red SE Ultra
« on: June 12, 2006, 03:55:12 PM »

I found the following bike on HDforums.  It can be seen at http://www.hdforums.com/m_513186/tm.htm    .

It is a candy red SEUltra.  We all know the MOCO made them in Autumn Haze, Crimson, and Green.  Did the MOCO make this one with factory candy paint or did the dealer repaint one of the above colored bikes?  The poster doesn't seem to know any difference that the candy red is not a normal color for the 06 SEUltra's..

Looks like they painted the slate gray color the red color.  You can still see the original crimson stripes in the original positions.  Definitely unique.  Probably dealer done.

That is one beautiful CUSE. Looks identical to the 3 known factory variations - just a great candy red paint scheme.

While it's a nice color scheme, I don't understand why someone would paint a brand new CVO a different color... seems like it would automatically devalue it (unless the owner has all kinds of money and doesn't care about such things)  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I was thinking the same thing. If I were to ever get tired of the color of my [smiley=pumpkin.gif] and want to change the color I would buy a complete new set of "tins" and paint them so I could keep factory "CVO" colors intact. One of the significant things of owning a "CVO" is the paint scheme. Along with a few proprietary pieces of chrome that have "Screamin' Eagle" or other CVO significant inscriptions the paint is what sets these bikes apart.

I just wonder if the MoCo is suggesting to dealers to have the bikes w/bad paint painted (something other then factory CVO colors) locally and try to sell them. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
